Naomi Kigondu

I’m a dual-board certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner licensed in Nebraska and Iowa, with over five years of experience in primary and psychiatric care. I earned my BSN and MSN from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and pursued psychiatry specialization at Purdue Global University. With a keen interest in mental health, I provide client-centered care based on the latest DSM edition, specializing in anxiety, psychosis, mood disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, OCD, insomnia, and more. Using evidence-based guidelines, I aim to guide clients toward self-actualization and healing through pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and other interventions in a welcoming environment. Thriving on client connection, I cultivate a warm and supportive space.
Judith is a dedicated healthcare professional with over a decade of experience. Her journey in mental health began with a strong foundation in nursing, where she honed her clinical skills and gained valuable insights into individual care.
Driven by her passion for mental health, Judith transitioned to inpatient psychiatry. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University and a master’s degree from Walden University, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
With two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Judith combines clinical expertise with empathy and compassion. She specializes in treating adolescents and adults, offering personalized care with warmth and professionalism.

Benzodiazepines and Controlled Drugs Policy
At True North Mental Health Group, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. When prescribing benzodiazepines or other controlled substances, we follow strict guidelines to ensure these medications are used safely and effectively. Controlled substances like benzodiazepines can lead to severe overdose toxicity and/or fatal overdose, especially with concomitant use of other substances such as alcohol and opioids. Here’s what you need to know:
1. Evaluation:Medications are prescribed only after a thorough assessment.
2. Consent: Risks and benefits are explained, and a consent form is signed.
3.Short-term Use: Typically prescribed short-term, with regular reviews for long-term use.
4. Monitoring:Regular follow-ups and possible urine tests to ensure safety and effectiveness.
5. Education:Detailed instructions on use, storage, and disposal.
6.Tapering:Support and a gradual reduction plan if discontinuing.
